TRAFFIC JARGON
Where's "Spaghetti Junction, the "Big Three," "The Connector", and "The River?"  (Aren't there like a million rivers in GA?!)
Here are some "Traffic Terms" to help you out:

I-285:
Since 285 is a circle, the directions are constantly changing, so it becomes more confusing to refer to it as 285 South, 285 North, 285 West and 285 East.  This is why we refer to it as the "Inner" and "Outer" Loops.

Inner Loop:
the lanes of traffic on 285 closest to the city

Outer Loop:
the lanes of traffic on 285 furthest from the city

Spaghetti Junction:
Where 285 & 85 connect on the Northside in Dekalb

The Big Three:

75, 400 & 85 on the Northside

Southside:
75 through Clayton and Henry Counties & 85 through Fayette and Coweta Counties

The Connector:
where 75 & 85 have merged together into one interstate in downtown Atlanta

I-20 West Expressway:
I-20 that runs between Birmingham, AL to Downtown Atlanta

I-20 East Expressway:
I-20 that runs towards Augusta, GA and Columbia, SC

The Rivers:
- 400 @ the River: South of Old Alabama, between Northridge & Holcomb Bridge exits
- 285 @ the River:
   - Northside: Between Northside & Powers Ferry exits, East of 75
   - Westside: Between South Cobb & Bolton Road
- 20 West Expressway: Between Fulton Industrial Blvd & Six Flags
- 75 Northside: Between Mt. Paran & Cumberland Blvd
